Remittance

Money moved between Afghanistan and the world.

One of Afghanistan's leading remittance desks — inbound family transfers, outbound supplier payments and corporate settlement, quoted up front and paid out nationwide.

What we move

Three ways our remittance desk works

Inbound remittance

Families and workers abroad send funds home from Europe, the Gulf, Turkey, the UK and the USA, with payout in Afghanis or US dollars at our branches and partner desks.

  • Cash or account payout
  • Same-day on most corridors
  • Transparent, agreed rates

Outbound transfers

Send funds from Afghanistan to supplier and family accounts abroad through our correspondent network across the Gulf, Asia and Europe.

  • Supplier and personal payments
  • Multi-currency settlement
  • Documented remittance advice

Corporate payments

Traders, NGOs and manufacturers use Wakman for bulk payroll, vendor settlement and letter-of-credit support alongside their import and export programmes.

  • Bulk payroll runs
  • Trade settlement with import orders
  • Dedicated account desk
How it works

Four steps, no surprises

01

Tell us the transfer

Share the amount, currency, corridor and receiving details with our desk on WhatsApp, phone or at a branch.

02

Confirm rate & fee

We quote the exchange rate and the fee up front, with nothing added later.

03

Verify & release

Sender and beneficiary identification is checked against our compliance policy before funds move.

04

Payout & receipt

The beneficiary collects in cash or receives to an account, and both sides get a written confirmation.

Families, traders and organisations who move money with us

I send money to my parents in Herat every month from London. The rate they quote on WhatsApp is the rate my family receives — nothing is cut at the other end.

FAQ

Remittance questions

How long does a remittance to Afghanistan take?
Most transfers on our main corridors are ready for payout the same working day. Larger or first-time transfers may take longer while identification and compliance checks are completed.
What does the transfer cost?
We confirm the exchange rate and the fee before you send, and nothing is deducted afterwards. Pricing depends on the corridor, the currency and the amount.
Which documents does the sender need?
A valid government photo identification document, a reachable phone number, and — for larger or first-time transfers — a simple explanation of the source of funds.
Which documents does the beneficiary need?
A valid tazkira or passport, and the transfer reference given to the sender. Corporate payouts also require a company authorisation letter naming the collecting person.
Can the beneficiary receive in Afghanis or US dollars?
Yes. Payout is available in Afghanis or US dollars in cash at our Kabul desk and partner offices, or by transfer to a local bank account.
Is there a maximum transfer amount?
There is no fixed ceiling, but larger amounts require additional documentation and a little more time. Tell our desk the amount up front and we will confirm what is needed.
Can businesses use Wakman for supplier payments and payroll?
Yes. Traders, manufacturers and NGOs settle supplier invoices, bulk payroll and import payments through our corporate desk, often alongside an import or export order.
Is the service compliant?
We operate under know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering procedures, record sender and beneficiary identification, and decline transactions we cannot document.
